Every Antichaos extension for Tableau is licensed in one of a few simple ways.
The product page of each extension says which one applies, and its configuration dialog shows on the License tab which features, if any, need a key.
Free
Most extensions are free to use on Tableau Desktop, Server and Cloud, for any number of dashboards and viewers. No account, no sign-up, no time limit. Some show a small “made with” badge to the users. A license key removes the badge.
Pro
Some extensions, like Atlas and Stretch, have a Pro tier: the features an organization needs once the extension becomes part of its infrastructure rather than a single dashboard widget.
The free version stays fully usable. Depending on the extension, Pro is free in Tableau Desktop and needs a key on Server and Cloud, where dashboards are shared.
Support license
Some extensions, like Latch, are free with every feature and no badge. If you need support, or want to help keep the extension in development, there is a support license: priority answers to your questions and a say in which features come next.
Connected services
Extensions that show live data from an outside service, like Google Analytics or Search Console, only have a demo-mode. The data is only handed out to an account you have authorized, so each organization is set up individually. That set-up and the running service are a yearly subscription per organization. What a license key does
A key is a short string you paste into the extension’s dialog. It is saved in the workbook and checked against our service when the extension loads.
Once accepted, the dialog shows “Licensed to your organization” and no longer shows the key itself; “Remove license” takes it out again. A key never carries or unlocks anything about your data. Keys are per organization and per extension, with an end date for yearly licenses.
How to buy
Use the buy button in the extension’s dialog or on its product page. The checkout shows the price and the VAT for your country (Antichaos is a Dutch company; EU business customers with a VAT number are invoiced with reverse-charged VAT, customers outside the EU without VAT). You receive the invoice and the key by e-mail, usually within one business day. A yearly license renews automatically; you can cancel any time before the renewal date.

Refunds, renewal and cancellation are in the terms and conditions: a full refund within 30 days of your first purchase, no questions asked.
On-premise
For organizations that cannot load extensions from an external address, some extensions, like Atlas, are available as a self-hosted build: the same files, served from your own web server, with updates. Other extensions on request.
